Bought this as a gift for my son and it was such a hit his friend ordered one
Its extremely convenient and awesome. My friends and I love bringing it to the park to play.
Loved using my brother’s board to play at the pool over the summer, got myself one shortly after but it arrived damaged. I reached out to the Venture team and they responded immediately and made it right!
I was skeptical. I've purchased one of every type of chess board there is. Travel chess sets in particular cause I'm always looking for "the one." And I travel with chess A LOT as someone who organizes chess events all over the country. This XL Venture Board is just about perfect. The design on the pieces was a little awkward, but within just a second of playing with them, they felt as natural as a traditional Staunton set. And the roll-out of the board is SO satisfying, like a fidget. No matter what, this XL set lives in my truck now, so I'm never without a perfect travel set.
ONE drawback... when it rolls to the floor of the truck, sometimes it'll bounce open and pieces go everywhere. A short drop is enough to kick it open if it lands the right way. A simple rubberband has solved that problem. But a clasp of some sort would make this a nearly perfect travel set.
And when they start making new colors in the XL, I'm TOTALLY buying one. Green is my favorite color. ;-)
This board is simply the best. It keeps my position so I can study it no matter where I am.
My son loves the board. The pieces do not move and allows him to play his games in between classes and extracurricular activities.
I have a large number of analysis/travel chess sets. The set has several advantages first, it comes with an extra queen of each color. It also comes with an extra piece with decals in case you lose a different piece. The magnets are strong, and the head can be rolled up so that it keeps your position. A set intermediate in size between the small one I bought and the larger one for sale which also has 3-D pieces would be perfect.
Got the XL as a gift for my son and he loves it. It is a perfect size, not too big and not too small. He has been carrying it with him and his friends to the park, and he loves it.
Love how it is so easy to pack up and the pieces are perfectly magnetized. Best board I’ve ever owned.
I took my new XL Venture board on vacation to Madeira Beach, Florida and sat outside at a cigar shop. Within an hour I had several questions and compliments on the board and played with several nice people. The board performed great! Thanks for such a great product.
My 5th grade daughter got this for her birthday from us and loves it! Perfect to travel to school with it. She said all the pieces stay in place.
This is the best fucking invention for chess since sliced bread. I take it to the bar, restaurants, to the club while I’m DJing. No limits to this wonderful board.
Love the VentureBoard! Its design and quality are very impressive. The “Fire” color is perfect. The orange is not bright or distracting. Kind of a burnt orange color. Love that the board lies flat, rolls up and closes easily, and the pieces stay in place so that your game can be resumed at another time. It’s my favorite travel chess set.

We love this product and have been enjoying it while traveling and vacationing. It’s easy to pass around the car. We do wish the magnets were stronger because we do get some shifting of pieces when carrying it in the rolled position.
