How does VentureBoard save games?
The pieces are strongly magnetized to all parts of the game board and storage area. This means that they will stay put through most adventures you might go on, short of directly dropping VentureBoard onto a hard surface from over a foot up, your game will stay in place.

Where do I put pieces that are captured?
Captured chess pieces can be stored at either end, where the magnetic pieces stick just as well. Go pieces not yet played can be stacked and stored on the storage area on one end.

How water-resistant is the bag?
The bag included with VentureBoard is water-resistant and rated for all outdoor conditions. It will not keep VentureBoard dry if submerged in water.

Do Pieces bump into each other when rolled up?
While they might touch each other when VentureBoard is rolled up, pieces will never move each other off of their respective squares. This means that your game will be saved regardless of the game state.

How does it stay closed?
Large embedded neodymium magnets on both ends hold the board closed, more strongly that probably any other chess board on the market.

How big is VentureBoard?

VentureBoard mini weighs 8 oz. It is 6.3"x 7.6" when open and rolls into a cylinder of diameter 2.8". VentureBoard XL weighs 22 oz. It is 10" x 10.5" when open and rolls into a cylinder of diameter 3.7"
